Chameleons
Chameleons are unique animals, for they have the ability to change the color of their skin to match their surroundings if they feel threatened. Since they're reptiles they have rough, scaley skin, they don't have individual scales like fish. Most of them live in trees or in plants and they like to climb. Chameleons are also from tropical areas so the they should not hibernate. They don't migrate either. Some like high humidity and being sprayed with water. They protect themselves with camoflauge by changing their skin color to match their surroundings. They feed off of insects, plants, and small animals, this means that they are omnivores. Most of them lay eggs, but some are born alive, they're young are called hatchlings or just chameleons. Out of 180 species of chameleons only a few are endangered because they're homes (forests) are being cut down and used for supplies, such as paper. Others are being shipped and sold all around the world as pets. Most of them die before they get to their future homes or die soon after arriving. An interesting facts is..... Chameleons have no limitations on which colors they are able to change their skin to. Chameleons also have feet that only have two fingers on each side. they use these odd feet to climb easily by wrapping around the object (branches).
